DO YOU FEEL TRAPPED BY THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA?

Do you find yourself constantly on edge, unable to fully relax, like you’re waiting for something bad to happen? Do past experiences echo in your daily life, keeping you from feeling present? Do you struggle to feel connected to other people, or to your life in general? Do you often feel numb, or unable to feel like you’re in your body? These are all common experiences that stem from unresolved trauma.

Trauma can result from a wide range of experiences. It is not defined by what happened to you, but rather by the impact it had on your body and your life. Regardless of the source, unprocessed trauma can impact your emotional well-being, relationships, and sense of self. You may feel stuck in survival mode, reacting to present situations through the lens of past pain. If this sounds familiar, take some comfort in knowing that healing is possible. You don’t have to stay trapped in the past.

TRAUMA IS COMMON, BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO DEFINE YOU

Many people experience trauma at some point in their lives, yet no two individuals respond in the same way. Some may develop symptoms of PTSD, while others might experience chronic anxiety, depression, or difficulty forming and maintaining relationships. Trauma can affect the nervous system in profound ways, leading to heightened reactivity, emotional dysregulation, dissociation, or avoidance of anything that reminds you of the past.

While trauma can feel overwhelming, it’s important to remember that healing is possible. With the right support, you can process what has happened and how it affected you in ways that let you reclaim your life, regain a sense of safety, and move forward with greater confidence and peace.

TRAUMA THERAPY CAN HELP YOU RECLAIM YOUR LIFE

Trauma therapy provides a structured, compassionate space to work through painful experiences at a pace that feels safe for you. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting or erasing the past—it means learning how to integrate your experiences in a way that no longer holds you captive. Therapy can help you:
  • Understand how trauma affects the brain and body so you can regain a sense of control over your responses.
  • Develop tools for calming the nervous system and regulating emotions.
  • Process distressing memories in a way that feels safe and empowering.
  • Reduce avoidance behaviors and reconnect with aspects of life you may have withdrawn from.
  • Rebuild trust in yourself and others, strengthening your sense of safety and connection.

MY APPROACH TO TRAUMA THERAPY

I use research-backed, trauma-informed approaches to help you heal at your own pace. My work is rooted in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences and emotions without fear of being retraumatized. Some of the evidence-based modalities I incorporate include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT helps identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts and beliefs stemming from trauma. It provides tools to break free from cycles of fear, shame, and self-judgment.

Somatic and Mindfulness-Based Approaches: Trauma is stored in the body as well as the mind. Practices that integrate body awareness, mindfulness, and grounding techniques help regulate the nervous system and reduce physical symptoms of trauma.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): EMDR is a highly effective therapy for processing traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity and allows for healing through integration.
